68% of seniors say college has significantly boosted their ability to land well-paying jobs, poll finds

Handshake survey reveals two-thirds of college seniors credit college for job prospects, 72% for securing meaningful work, and 85% for understanding career goals. 88% report personal growth from higher education. However, 57% feel pessimistic about post-college careers due to job competition. Job creation on Handshake is lower than last year, reflecting national trends. Students are attending career fairs, applying for more jobs, working part-time, and pursuing internships to stand out. 54% of students with loans report major stress, rising to 61% for Black and first-generation students. Two-thirds support federal student loan forgiveness.
