McDowell Technical Community College in North Carolina hosted a FAFSA Fiesta to assist Latino families with financial aid applications, aiming to boost Latino college enrollment. The event, one of four hosted by the College Foundation of North Carolina, offered bilingual assistance and aimed to make the process more enjoyable. Despite a decrease in FAFSA applications, the event targeted recent high school graduates and families finding the process difficult. The event also provided resources for undocumented students ineligible for federal or state aid. Over 112 families attended, with 43 successfully completing the FAFSA.
