Diverse: Issues In Higher Education
CUNY’s School of Medicine received $19.3m from National Institutes of Health to establish New York Center for Minority Health, Equity and Social Justice. The Center, based in Harlem, will address health disparities through research and outreach in Harlem and South Bronx. It will join the National Institute of Minority Health and Disparities network, focusing on therapeutic strategies for end-stage kidney disease in minorities, mental health resources for Chinese American adolescents and parents, and Parkinson’s disease care in Latino communities.
