Gallup Survey Finds Declining Confidence in Higher Education

American confidence in higher education is divided, with 36% high, 32% some, and 32% little or no confidence, according to a Lumina-Gallup survey. A decade ago, 57% had high confidence. Those with low confidence believe higher education is heading in the wrong direction. Confidence levels have stabilized after previous drops, but more people express little or no confidence. The trend is political, with fewer Republicans confident in colleges due to perceived liberal agendas, potentially impacting college applications and enrollment.
