Diverse: Issues In Higher Education

Sister Dr. Christine De Vinne, president of Ursuline College, is stepping down after over 50 years of service. Ursuline, founded by the Ursuline Sisters in 1871, remains women-centered and Catholic. De Vinne’s leadership, positivity, and dedication have been instrumental in the college’s success, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. She initiated the Faculty Diversity Fellowship Program and increased diversity in the faculty and board of trustees. Her retirement likely marks the last Ursuline Sister to lead the institution.
