Just 29% of families say the updated FAFSA was easier to complete, survey finds

Updated FAFSA rollout glitches caused stress, delays for families seeking aid, with only 29% finding it easier than old form. Despite high college costs, 88% of survey respondents still see it as future investment. However, cost remains a factor in college choice. The botched FAFSA rollout led to 38% finding older versions easier, 33% saw no difference. Nearly half experienced aid offer delays, causing stress, information seeking, and consideration of cheaper institutions. Delays also prompted 11% to consider leaving college, 9% did. Further delays expected for 2025-2026 FAFSA forms.
