One-third of US adults have little to no confidence in higher education, poll finds

US adults’ confidence in higher education drops to 32%, up from 23% last year, with unchanged strong confidence at 36%. Republicans show sharpest change, citing indoctrination, irrelevant skills, and job struggles. Democrats’ high faith drops from 68% to 56%. Reasons include perceived political agenda, irrelevant teachings, and high costs. More confidence in two-year colleges than four-year institutions.
