Democrats and Republicans Alike Still See Value in a Degree

 

Despite public skepticism, 80% of U.S. voters, including 88% Democrats and 75% Republicans, still value higher education, according to a Third Way survey. However, only 56% have a favorable view of the U.S. higher education system. Majority see higher education’s value in career outcomes. Concerns include rising costs and accountability for student outcomes. 65% predict decreased interest in higher education among future high schoolers.
